The truth of the matter is that the bond election sets the tone for the future of the city plain and simple. LISDs outer neighbors have nice tax incomes
because most of their residents work in Longview. If this bond fails and LISD continues to deteriorate, we will start down a similar path as Marshall, Nac,
Jacksonville, etc. As a city, we will not be able to continue to bring in major industry or support service jobs that accompany those industries.

Saturday is an important day for LISD. Please go to the polls and vote for the bond election. These ACADEMIC proposals are very much needed ... and will only
cost millions of dollars more if we delay any further. This election will determine the future of LISD -- and the city of Longview.

Thw article has LHS' enrollment as 1,964. That's even lower than the number the UIL used for the alignment. I wonder where they came up with that
number. I know the enrollments always drop from the spring to the fall, but that's a heafty drop.

Having worked in several of the schools at LISD when I was in college with the after school programs, there is no doubt that LISD is in dire need of new
facilities, especially for the elementary schools.....

The GREAT thing is that we are trying to pass a 260 + million dollar bond issue that we need desperately. Adding 8 new schools and additions to the high
school and 2 elementary schools. Spring Hill is trying to pass a 46 million dollar bond issue and it will actually cost their tax payers MORE per thousand
dollars in home values than our 260 + bond. LONG STORY SHORT.,,,,,,, $100 thousand dollar house in Longview versus the same ($ amount) house in
Springhill...... The new Tax Rate in...

I will vote to pass the bond, but I am hearing grumblings about the dollars from some people I know. It is a LOT of money, but also its money that our schools
need in a bad way. If not for some of our past school administrations, maybe our schools wouldn't be so bad off, but something has to be done and soon. If
it doesn't pass, then our enrollments will continue to decline.
