Come on guys lets get real here. Football is still Football meaning still have to play 11 on 11. The ONLY difference is that 5A teams can have a designated
offense and defense players where as 3A teams and below would have to play both ways. Who remembers the the 1980's Dangerfield teams? Those squads from
81 to 84 could beat any 5A team in the state. Thomas Everett started at qb and at safety look where he wound up.
Longview would not play teams like Gilmer, Tatum, Kilgore, EF etc in fear of getting beat. Don't get me wrong Longview should beat those teams but anybody can be beat on any given friday or saturday night. Competition is Competition but fear is the reason why things don't get accomplished.
