DCTF (texasfootball.com) has started a top ten rivalries series. The first article lists Dallas Carter vs Dallas Kimball as number ten and they will release the others in order over the next two weeks. Leaves for interesting debate about who will be #1, where (and if) LV vs Marshall will be ranked and so forth. Any thoughts?

Should be top 5 definitely, and possibly even top 3. Aside from being the oldest (unless you go by the UIL's crap) I don't remember OTHER teams doing the stuff we've done.
Of course, DC doesn't know ANYTHING, and it wouldn't surprise me to not see us on there. |

I e-mailed Texas Football magazine thanking it for the "Top Ten" series and, of course, casually mentioned Longview-Marshall. Travis Stewart of TFM replied that LHS-MHS will be "near the top" and appear next week. That's great to hear.
By the way, what other Texas rivalries do you Lobo fanatics believe should be in the top 10? |

I think it will be interesting to see if they limit each school to only one appearance on the list. I would love to see the Longview/Lufkin series get some recognition. The JT/Lee series will most likely make the list also.

Interesting... Lufkin-Nac is an oldie but a goodie. Even though LP has dominated the W-L column recently, Nac has hung with them in many games even though LP is going through some of their best years in 5A ever.
I think JT-Lee should be up there. |

Last year about this time Maxim Magazine put out a "Top 15 Best Rivalries in the Nation" . Longview vs. Marshall made #15. The only high school rivalry mentioned.
But...still have my doubts about anything DC puts out. |

Up to number 5 right now.
Texas High vs. Arkansas High was that one. Kinda surprised they'd go with Kimball vs Carter of all teams as #10.
